Novice Begins Fall Season at Head of Occoquan

“The first race is always a special challenge, and I am pleased with how things went today,” assistant coach Tina Griffith said, “Each boat did a great job meeting their particular challenges and overall the team made big steps towards realizing its full potential.”

The Mountaineers kicked off the regatta with two entries in the novice women’s four race, where WVU saw both of their boats finish in the top-four. WVU’s ‘A’ boat, coxed by Dana Bishop and rowed by Lize Morris, Gillian Downs, Hallie Nichols and Ashley Rackley, won the race with a time of 20:43.
