Sunday marks the Mountaineers’ return to competition since finishing their historical run through the 2016 NCAA College Cup with a National Runner-Up finish.

“We are excited for our first game of the spring season against Cincinnati,” WVU associate head coach Lisa Stoia said. “This match will be a great opportunity to continue our development as a team in a game setting where we will be challenged. The athletes have been working hard all spring in training. This Sunday is a good chance for us to see where we are and where we need to continue to grow.”

The five-time reigning Big 12 Conference champion Mountaineers finished the 2016 campaign with a 23-2-2 mark, including a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play.
