Baseball Falls in Midweek at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Four multi-run innings and nine walks doomed the West Virginia University baseball team as it fell 13-3 to Virginia Tech on Tuesday evening at English Field.

The loss is the sixth in a row by the Mountaineers, who fall to 24-23 overall after scoring three runs on nine hits with one error. The Hokies improved to 26-24 overall and scored 13 runs on 13 hits with one error.

Virginia Tech pitcher Jon Woodcock (3-2) picked up the win in seven innings of action. Woodcock gave up two runs, one earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts and three walks.
