Damian Collins MP, chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport select committee, has told talkSPORT the London Stadium has cost TEN TIMES more than the conversion of Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium…and West Ham are paying less towards it.
London mayor Sadiq Khan has ordered an investigation into the rising bill for converting the former London 2012 venue, with latest figures claiming a £51million increase.
There are concerns the London taxpayers will be saddled with the costs, and there have been calls for West Ham to up their investment to help balance the books.
