‘No one wants West Ham to play behind closed doors…but it IS that serious’ - Damien Collins MP on London Stadium violence

Damien Collins MP, chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, believes West Ham could be ordered to play games behind closed doors if fan violence at the London Stadium continues.

The Hammers’ 2-1 London derby win over Chelsea on the EFL Cup on Wednesday was overshadowed by violent scenes which saw the opposing fans hurl coins, seats and bottles across the stands.

Arrests were made by the police and West Ham confirmed on Thursday that around 200 people face being banned from football after an investigation into CCTV footage of the chaotic scenes.
