Roman and the Canadian Eight Advance to Finals at Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Former Washington State rower Lisa Roman (2011-13) and the rest of the Canadian women's eight crew won the Repechage heat Thursday and advanced to the event final, Saturday, Aug. 13. Current rower and fellow Canadian, Nicole Hare (2013-present), finished second, along with her teammate Jennifer Martins, in the women's pair C Final, Thursday, at the 2016 Olympic Games.

The Canadian eight (Cristy Nurse, Lisa Roman, Antje von Seydlitz-Kurzback, Christine Roper, Lauren Wilkinson, Susanne Grainger, Natalie Mastracci, Caileigh Filmer and Lesley Thompson-Willie) led the entire race to finish with a time of 6:28.
