Quarterback Cade Apsay was forced into action after the Buffs lost starting signal caller Sefo Liufau for the season in the first quarter against USC, when Liufau broke a bone in his foot. Apsay did well in relief, leading CU to a 17-6 lead at halftime before the Trojans came roaring back. Still, the redshirt freshman completed 18-of-23 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns, and didn’t turn the ball over.
