SEATTLE – The Washington State women's basketball team collected its fourth-straight win over Washington in Seattle for the first time in 49 years on Sunday, Jan. 30, as the Cougars scored a 57-43 victory over the Huskies at the Alaska Airlines Arena to sweep the Boeing Apple Cup Series for the third time in the last four seasons.
Washington State used a stellar defensive effort against the Huskies to collect its fifth-straight win over UW for the first time in the NCAA era. The last time WSU won five-straight over Washington came during the 1973-74 and 1974-75 seasons.
