Cornerback Pat Porter leaves WSU

In the Spring of 2014, WSU beat out USC, Arkansas and UCLA for a big name recruit out of SEC country. Our very own Britton Ransford called him one of the top 25 prospects in Alabama and mentioned that he could see playing time as a freshman.

The recruit was Pat Porter, and after a season and a half on the team, his name was removed from the roster.

This wasn't a giant surprise, according to Jacob Thorpe. Thorpe noted that Porter seemed to struggle under the new defensive coaching staff saying he was "frequently scolded during practice for being in the wrong place or making the wrong read.
