Klay Thompson up for 'Best Record-Breaking Performance' ESPY award

In the third quarter against the Sacramento Kings back in January, Klay Thompson scored a NBA-record 37 points. He went on to finish the night with 52 total points. As they would say in the video game NBA Jam, he was "on fire". The basket must have looked like the San Francisco Bay for Thompson, as he went 13-for-13 from the field and hit nine three pointers in that third quarter alone. This performance solidified the argument that Thompson is one of the best shooting guards in the game. Because of this performance, which had Cougar fans far and wide smiling ear-to-ear, Thompson had been nominated for the "Best Record-Breaking Performance" Award, which will be presented at the ESPY's on July 15.
