Cougar baseball drops series to Arizona

Washington State baseball's run of four straight series wins was snapped on Sunday with the Cougars losing 2-0 to Arizona, giving the Wildcats two wins in the three-game set.

The loss was not without opportunity for WSU. The Cougars got a terrific pitching performance, headlined by starter Ryan Walker. He allowed just two hits in seven innings. The bullpen was solid as well and the Cougars and Wildcats traded zeroes into the 11th inning. It appeared WSU was on the way to putting up another scoreless inning, but a dropped fly ball in the top of the 11th allowed Arizona to plate two runs.
