Redskins cut cornerback Chris Culliver after adding Josh Norman, Kendall Fuller

ASHBURN — The Washington Redskins released cornerback Chris Culliver on Monday, just one year into a four-year, $32 million contract he signed in March of 2015.

Culliver was suspended one game last season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, stemming from a previous incident in March of 2014. The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors last summer and the one-game suspension voided the remaining $8 million he was guaranteed in 2016. On Thanksgiving, Culliver’s season ended after he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee.

The injury, combined with the Redskins’ addition of free agent cornerback Josh Norman and Virginia Tech cornerback Kendall Fuller in the last weekend’s draft, all were considered in the decision.
