San Francisco Giants’ starter Jeff Samardzija gave up just three hits, three walks, and one earned run last night, but Washington Nationals’ hitters ran his pitch count up to 98 in an abbreviated four-inning outing in what ended up a 4-0 win for the visiting team in Oracle Park.
“Outside of just battling and fighting,” Samardzija told reporters after the game, as quoted by MLB.com’s Maria Guardado, “... there wasn’t too much positive out there for me.”
