Scherzer uneven as Nats fall to Cardinals

Garcia ended up pitching seven solid innings, allowed two runs on seven hits and winning his fourth game of the season. He did allow a solo homer to Danny Espinosa in the fifth inning, and Bryce Harper scored the second run on a double-play ball hit by Ryan Zimmerman in the sixth.

The Cardinals would add to their lead in the eighth inning, when Greg Garcia hit his second home run of the season off Nationals reliever Yusmeiro Petit.
