No-no encore: Scherzer tosses 2nd of 2015

NEW YORK -- Pure domination is the best way to describe right-hander Max Scherzer during the second game of a doubleheader against the Mets on Saturday night. Scherzer put himself in the record books, pitching his second no-hitter of the season as the Nationals blanked the Mets, 2-0.

Scherzer became the sixth pitcher with two no-hitters in the same season (including the playoffs): Roy Halladay (2010) was the last pitcher to have that distinction. Scherzer had a perfect game until the sixth inning, when third baseman Yunel Escobar committed an error on a ground ball off the bat of Kevin Plawecki.
