Nationals do not tender contract to Ben Revere

The Ben Revere Era is likely over in Washington.

The Nationals chose to non-tender Revere a contract, choosing not to go to arbitration with the center fielder who struggled to hit last season.

Washington did tender contracts to four other players who are arbitration eligible: Bryce Harper, Tanner Roark, Anthony Rendon and, notably, shortstop Danny Espinosa.

Revere hit just .217 last season after being acquired in an offseason trade for reliever Drew Storen. Revere had hit .294 or better for six consecutive seasons before arriving in Washington.
