The San Diego native will come off the disabled list to face the Padres at Petco Park. Strasburg has been out since July 23 with a nerve impingement in his right elbow. He had a 1.89 ERA in his last four starts before going on the disabled list.
The veteran left-hander rebounded from a pair of rough outings, battling through five two-run innings against the Phillies. Since being acquired from Kansas City, Wood has a 5.57 ERA in four starts, all of which have lasted at least five innings.
