Gonzalez finds positives in rough outing

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Things had been rocking along for Nats starter Gio Gonzalez this spring. In only two of five previous outings had the left-hander even allowed a run, and in both of those he yielded just one run.

But Sunday was a different story. Against the Astros at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, Gonzalez gave up five runs on six hits in a 91-pitch (58 strikes) effort. He struck out five and walked two. The Astros won, 5-1.

"Today there were some pitches that I wasn't landing for strikes," Gonzalez said.
