Clint Robinson a late cut at Nationals camp

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Washington Nationals placed first baseman Clint Robinson on waivers Tuesday, assuring a roster spot for Adam Lind and creating an uncertain baseball future for Robinson.

Robinson has 72 hours to see if he is claimed by another team. If not, he could accept an offer to return to Triple-A Syracuse after two years in the major leagues. Robinson said he had not ruled out joining Syracuse.

“It’s tough because when you are with a team couple years and this being my first extended time in the big leagues, the friendships I’ve made and the good teammates I’ve had, saying bye to them is pretty tough,” Robinson said.
