PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- In his first at-bat of Grapefruit League play, Bryce Harper launched a solo home run over the right-center-field wall to begin the second inning Saturday afternoon.
It was a positive sign for Harper, who is trying to bounce back from a disappointing 2016 season. He bulked up about 15 pounds during the offseason and said he came into camp feeling strong.
Harper is expected to receive two or three at-bats in the Nats' spring opener or play about five innings in right field.
