Nats lament errors in loss to Cubs

CHICAGO -- The Nationals have been racking up wins in May because they've been playing good, sound fundamental baseball.

But they suffered a 3-2 walk-off loss to the Cubs on Tuesday -- snapping a streak of eight wins in nine games -- mainly because of two mental errors in the ninth inning.

In the top of the ninth, third baseman Yunel Escobar was picked off second base to end the inning -- killing any hope of a go-ahead rally.

With two out and catcher Wilson Ramos at the plate, Escobar broke for third prematurely.
