Nationals Draft Alex Meyer With 23rd Pick

The Washington Nationals may have just drafted a right handed version of Randy Johnson. The Nats used the 23rd pick of the first round to select RHP Alex Meyer from Kentucky. Meyer is a tall lanky kid with some nasty stuff and occasional control issues which makes him a nightmare to face.

MLB.com had Meyer rated #20 in their list of the top 50 players in this draft. He has the potential to be a top of the rotation type of pitcher at the big league level.
