Place him in front of a microphone and an excited Mike Hopkins always has some one-liner that quickly becomes the “Did you hear what he said?” moment.
Hopkins, after his team’s 79-77 win Thursday over Oregon State at the Alaska Airlines Arena, was once again in front of a mic. Normally energetic, the Washington Huskies coach was subdued to start but still delivered.
“Survive and advance,” Hopkins said before taking questions.
March is here and survival, from a college basketball perspective, is at a premium. Only 68 out of 351 Division I teams reach the NCAA Tournament.
