Brandon Roy is returning to his alma mater as the new head boys basketball coach, according to multiple reports Thursday morning.
The news was first tweeted by Left Coast Recruiting, then former Garfield High coach Ed Haskins -- now an assistant at Washington State -- posted a congratulatory tweet with a photo of Roy.
Roy prepped at Garfield before having a prolific career at the University of Washington and a six-year NBA career and recently finished his first-ever coaching stint, leading Nathan Hale to a undefeated record and a 3A state title -- beating Garfield, coincidentally -- at the end of the 2016-17 season.
