LOS ANGELES — Washington (20-6, 1-3 Pac-12) scored in five of the six innings to post a 9-0 victory over UCLA (18-9-1, 1-1-1) in Pac-12 softball action Thursday.
Trysten Melhart went 4 for 4 for the Huskies, with a double and two runs batted in. Taran Alvelo was the winning pitcher, giving up four hits, striking out five and allowing just one walk to the Bruins.
BASEBALL
• Washington State (8-12, 1-3 Pac-12) scored three runs in the top of the 10th inning to post a 5-2 victory at Stanford. Mason Cerrillo broke the tie with a two-run single in the 10th and then Cameron Frost followed with a run-scoring single.
