Brayden Lenius learning nuances of playing wide receiver

The physical attributes are obvious. Brayden Lenius is 6 feet 5 and 220 pounds with long arms, good feet and natural hands. A football coach’s dream at wide receiver, in other words.

But as a kid growing up in North Vancouver, B.C., Lenius was more interested in being a winger than a wide receiver. Hockey was a first love. Football didn’t enter the picture until his first year of high school.

“I played hockey longer than I’ve played football,” he said. “Kind of weird, huh?”

Eventually, Lenius hung up his skates and gravitated toward football. For that, the Huskies are grateful.
