Here are three ideas for fun away from the hottest sun:
1. The friendly little town of Raymond, in Pacific County, is at the mouth of beautiful Willapa Bay, not far from ocean beaches and that cooling marine air. This weekend it hosts the Willapa Harbor Festival, with a car show, parade, softball tournament, food and craft vendors, and a battle of the bands (hey, Nirvana played their first gig here, Wikipedia says).
