Rookie WR Evan Spencer among final roster cuts

Rookie wide receiver Evan Spencer was among the final wave of players cut by the Washington Redskins late Saturday afternoon.

The sixth-round pick out of Ohio State missed the final preseason game while still being monitored in accordance with the league’s concussion program. The team announced Spencer’s release as “designated injured.”

Fullback Jordan Campbell also was released and classified as “designated injuerd.” Campbell missed the final preseason game with a shoulder injury. Defensive end Corey Crawford, defensive back DaMon Cromartie-Smith, defensive end Travian Robertson, defensive lineman Robert Thomas and defensive lineman Jerrell Powe wrapped up the final wave of cuts.
