Colt McCoy out for the season after suffering broken fibula against Eagles

Colt McCoy was supposed to have his chance. After a long wait, he was going to return to the spotlight as a starting QB in the NFL. Alex Smith had gone down with an unfortunate, brutal-looking injury, and McCoy took over as the starter. And it was his chance to prove himself.

Instead, McCoy now has met the same fate as Smith.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport (via ESPN’s Lisa Salters), McCoy suffered a broken fibula against the Eagles. McCoy came up limping early in the game and after the Redskins offense left the field, he tried to work through the injury.
