Like the Buffalo game, last night’s game started out well, with the Capitals getting the first goal. Unfortunately also like in the Buffalo game, the Caps were once again not able to hold onto the win, allowing Ottawa to tie the game up twice before giving way to their sixth-straight loss in the extra frame.
The game wasn’t a bad one for the Caps, but for a near must-win game against a bad, tired team, the Caps needed to bring more. And now, what was once a near slam-dunk to make the playoffs seems more and more unlikely – perhaps just showing us what they are rather than what their standings position says they should be.
