Capitals vs. Lightning: Game 21 discussion thread

The NHL had Thanksgiving Day off, but both the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning ride three-game win streaks into Friday’s early evening game.

A low-scoring game seems likely, as the two teams are among the league’s best defensively. Washington is second in the league in shots against per game (26), while Tampa Bay is sixth (28.4). The Lightning are second in the NHL with just 2.13 goals against per game; the Capitals are fifth with 2.24 goals against per game.

The teams also have two of the league’s top goaltenders in Washington’s Braden Holtby and Tampa Bay’s Ben Bishop, but the Capitals will get Andrei Vasilevskiy on Friday night.
