Capitals Drop Game 1 Against Rangers

Martin Fehervary scored the lone goal for Washington.

The Capitals entered the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the lowest-seeded team in the East, and were no match for the top-seeded New York Rangers in a 4-1 road defeat in Game 1 of this first-round series.

However, the first period seemed promising for Washington, as Charlie Lindgren made some strong saves in net while the score remained 0-0.

However, the second period was a much different story as the Rangers put up the first three goals, courtesy of Matt Rempe, Artemi Panarin, and Jimmy Vesey.
