Jay Beagle ‘would be honored’ to re-sign with Capitals

Last Monday, when General Manager Brian MacLellan rattled through the Washington Capitals’ primary free agency plans, he lumped forward Jay Beagle among the restricted free agents. This was not a mistake: MacLellan knew Beagle would become unrestricted July 1, free to sign with any team seeking his services as a fourth-line center, ace penalty-killer and, suddenly, a 20-point scorer.
