Why Heroes Live Alone – Daredevil: Yellow (2001)

Before the character was adapted into Netflix’s phenomenal live-action adaption, Daredevil, whose secret identity is Matt Murdock, made his debut in April of 1964.

In 2001, Marvel Comics released Daredevil: Yellow, a collaboration by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale that presents a look into Daredevil’s origins through a unique lens. Audiences are able to see through Matt’s perspective as he writes a farewell letter to his former lover, Karen Page, who died at the hands of the famous Daredevil villain, Bullseye, an event that takes place outside the pages of the comic book series.

In regard to Matt’s origins as Daredevil, he adopts a life as a vigilante as a way of avenging his father’s murder.
