This past Sunday the women of the Virginia Tech Hokies defeated the Naval Academy Midshipmen, during the second round of the WNIT.
The Hokies were off to a fast start and outscored the USNA, 42-28. VPI was outscored, 36-33, during the second half, and the Middies closed to within four points, but the Hokies held on to win, 75-64.
Chanette Hicks scored 18 points, recovered two rebounds, and earned five steals. Samantha Hill added 16 points of her own and five rebounds. Sidney Cook provided the Hokies with a double-double, scoring 15 points and racking up 12 rebounds.
