NEW ORLEANS – Virginia Tech’s track and field program was honored by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Thursday afternoon, earning the All-Academic Team honor as announced by the organization.
The men’s track and field team earned a 3.13 GPA, while the women’s side tallied a 3.17 GPA. In total, 360 teams received the honor, including 142 men’s teams and 218 women’s teams.
In order to be named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree, a program must compete at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.
