A pair of home runs helps Virginia to ACC-opening win

Saige Jenco scores his 100th career run at Tech and knocks in another in 8-3 loss

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A three-run sixth inning by the No. 9 Virginia Cavaliers turned their one-run lead into a four-run advantage and propelled the home team to an 8-3 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies Thursday night at Davenport Field in the opening game of the final ACC baseball series for both teams.

Tech trailed 4-1 after two innings, but used single runs in the third and the fourth to claw back to within a run. Saige Jenco scored in the third on a Tom Stoffel single and then knocked in the other in the fourth with a double, plating Rahiem Cooper.
