Virginia Basketball: “A Few Good Men” chosen as the defining movie for the Hoos

A Rocky Balboa poster in head coach Tony Bennett’s office notwithstanding, ESPN chose A Few Good Men as the movie most emblematic of UVa basketball in their latest offseason listicle.

C.L. Brown chose the classic military drama, in which two U.S. Marines face a court-martial, because of the Cavaliers’ style of play. Quoting the movie, Brown says, “...’deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want’ the Wahoos to succeed. ‘You need’ the Hoos to succeed.”

The film was adapted from a Broadway show that first premiered at the UVa drama department.
