UVa Men’s Basketball head coach Tony Bennett announced earlier today that 4th year walk-on forward, Jeff Jones has been declared academically ineligible and will not be able to play the rest of the basketball season.
This likely comes as a shock and disappointment to many Virginia fans who have loved anytime the walk-on group, The Green Machine, was inserted into games late during UVa hoops blow outs.
Jones, the son of former UVa coach Jeff Jones, had appeared in 35 games during his career, including 5 this season. Perhaps more surprising, according to his bio on virginiasports.
