The top-ranked Virginia Men's tennis team defeated the #16 University of San Diego, 4-0, in hasty fashion Friday night in the opening round of the ITA Team Indoor Championships at the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville. The #1 seeded Hoos advanced to the quarterfinals, and will play ACC rival Wake Forest at 3:30 pm Saturday. Virginia improved to 6-0 on the season, while San Diego fell to 4-2.
The Cavaliers started strong in doubles, getting wins from the pair of Ryan Shane and Luca Corinteli at #1 doubles, 6-2 over the 18th ranked pair of Jordan Angus and Filip Vittek.
