Mamadi Diakite, men’s basketball growing in confidence, Olamide Zaccheaus ranks highly

Yesterday, we revealed STL’s latest ACC men’s basketball power rankings (featuring a new team at the top) and published our first bracketology of the year following the end of non-conference play.

In Saturday’s win over Florida State, junior forward Mamadi Diakite provided a defensive boost for the Virginia Cavaliers, which held the Seminoles to their lowest shooting percentage of the season at 34.1 percent. Diakite recorded four rebounds, one steal, and one block to go along with six points on the afternoon.

Senior wideout Olamide Zaccheaus finished as the third highest rated wide receiver in this season’s bowl period according to Pro Football Focus, falling just behind Clemson’s Justyn Ross and UAB’s Xavier Ubosi.
