UPDATE: SEC Tournament final to resume after rain delay

With one out in the bottom of the third inning, Vanderbilt was trailing Florida 5-2 when a second rain delay was put into effect. There is no timetable for the game to return, although Weather.com predicts the rain to stop by 8 pm CT.

By rule, games are not allowed to be called until the fifth inning, but there is somewhat of a precedent for this situation before.

In 1990, the SEC Championship between LSU and Mississippi State was called due to lightning and rain. Despite LSU leading 6-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, the SEC Commissioner declared them tournament co-champions, and neither was selected as an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
