Five key moments from the loss to Tennessee

Ralph Webb (7) carries the ball in the Vanderbilt Commodores' loss to the Tennessee Volunteers.

In Saturday’s game against Tennessee, Vanderbilt scored a season-high 28 points against a FBS opponent while surrendering an another astounding season-high 53 points to the Volunteers.

While more exciting than previous Commodore games, five key moments determined the outcome of the game.

Dobbs strikes first

On the Volunteers’ first drive, quarterback Joshua Dobbs threw a 18-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Von Pearson.

Vanderbilt called a cornerback blitz and shut down Dobbs’ short throw options. Unfortunately, there was no safety over the top to cover the deep throw, leaving Pearson wide open for the easy touchdown.
