Last night, both Vanderbilt basketball teams lost in the first edition of the ACC/SEC Challenge — but the vibes around the two programs are extremely different.
The women’s team lost 70-62 to NC State. This, frankly, is acceptable: NC State is a Top 5 team. The game did get away from them in the second half, but the Commodores outscored NC State 26-16 in the fourth quarter to cut the final margin to single digits. Jordyn Cambridge led Vanderbilt with 15 points.
The men’s team, on the other hand, got blown out by Boston College 80-62.
