Fresh off a surprising 2016 season that saw them qualify for a post-season spot, the Vancouver Whitecaps USL affiliate, WFC2, dropped their season opener to the LA Galaxy II on Saturday.
Playing in LA, WFC2 couldn’t get much going in the way of offense, as they fell by a final score of 2-0.
The match didn’t exactly start off on the right foot for Vancouver, as they suffered an own goal in the opening minutes of the contest. Baggio Husidic had played a deep ball in, hoping to find a Galaxy teammate for a chance, but instead, it went off WFC2 Center Back Sem De Wit’s head and into the back of the net.
