Canada Soccer announced on Wednesday that Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite BC Soccer REX striker Jordyn Huitema (Chilliwack, BC) has been called up to the Canadian women's national team for the 2017 Algarve Cup. At 15-years-old, Huitema is the youngest player on the team as she looked to make her senior national team debut.
Canada will return to the Algarve Cup, Portugal to defend its 2016 title with a squad blending experience and youth. The 24th edition of the invitational 2017 Algarve Cup will take place from March 1 to 8 . Canada faces Denmark on March 1, Russia on March 3, and hosts Portugal on March 6, with the final match scheduled for March 8.
