“Anything can happen” as WFC2 prepare for first appearance in USL playoffs

This time last year, Kyle Greig was playing for Oklahoma City Energy FC.

In only their second year of existence, they finished in second place in the USL Western Conference and had their fan base fired up for run to the USL Cup.

But that run came to a halt in the Western Conference finals when they fell 2-1 at home to the fifth seeded team, LA Galaxy II. The lower seeded Galaxy won three straight playoff games on the road before falling 2-1 in extra time to Rochester Rhinos in the USL Cup final.

“You know the thing about the playoffs in this league, or any league really, is that anybody can win the entire thing,” noted Greig, now captain of Whitecaps FC 2.
