After hiring Trent Cull to fill the AHL Utica Comets’ head coaching job, the Vancouver Canucks continued to add to their coaching staff by hiring 44-year-old Darryl Seward to replace former video coach Ben Cooper.

Seward comes to Vancouver following two years at the AHL level as a video coach and four years at the QMJHL level.

Most notably, Seward was part of the AHL Cleveland Monsters coaching team that won the Calder Cup in 2016. He was also part of the coaching team for the gold-winning Team Canada at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial.
