VANCOUVER — So suddenly was goalie Richard Bachman called up by the Vancouver Canucks this week, he left his dog with minor-league teammate Taylor Fedun, and left his wife with a really messy apartment in Utica, N.Y.
“I had actually just gotten done driving from Denver to Utica with the dog and a U-haul,” Bachman said Wednesday after joining the Canucks. “It was about a 25-hour drive Sunday and Monday, and then I finished up Tuesday morning. I got everything off the truck and was in the process of unpacking, then got the phone call and rushed around to collect my gear and I got here.
