For Vancouver Canucks fans, seeing Brock Boeser on the right wing of Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin last night against the Minnesota Wild was exciting enough. But for the Burnsville, MN native, there was a lot more to it.
Boeser and the University of North Dakota suffered a season-ending loss to Boston University Friday night. Then Saturday morning, Boeser signed his NHL entry-level contract with the Canucks, and there were only a few hours left before he would make his debut against the team he grew up cheering for.
Boeser logged 12 minutes and 44 seconds of ice time, scored the game-winning goal in a 4-2 win, and was named first star of the game.
